Adding a bunch of units to your army is a crucial part of the wargaming journey. It goes right along the expanding pile of shame, and those brand new units dying in spectacular fashion the first time you play them.

These models go with the Ultramarines I painted earlier this year. It was fun to add a bunch of different characters, as the first wave was mostly the named epic heroes.
Some more heavy intercessors. I have to admit that as a player, I was less than sold on the heavy intercessors. But as a painter, they are the best and I would paint a hundred more.

For all the phobos marines, I had some fun with the camo cloaks. Well, not all phobos in the army, but the ones with cloaks anyway, I find camo is always overly simple or overly complex, and the real challenge is finding the proper balance.
This was also the first time I got to paint the new upsized Terminators ( Space Wolves don’t really count, right?) and they still are among my favorites to paint.

And to round out this second wave of Ultramarines, some tanks. An ever popular choice, the Repulsor Executioner and a more classic one, the Land Raider Redeemer.
