Hall of Accolades

This page is just an archive souvenirs and memorablia of past events I attended. It should not really be reachable or linked anywhere on the site. Whether you found it by pure luck or dedicated stalking, good on you.

Besides collecting hobby supplies and miniatures, I am a very minimalist type of guy. Keeping a box of trophies to collect dust or having a huge shelf to display them is not really my vibe.

The Hall of Heroes Tournaments were my first taste of events, both playing and running them back when I started working at Librairie Donjon around 2006. My friend Eric and I would alternate between playing and organizing. It was always a last minute nightmare to get the trophies from Games Workshop so the plates were always blank. These were for either sportsmanship or painting, not for playing.

Da Boyz GT 2013 is the first event I attended outside of Quebec City. At the time I remember thinking it was really weird to drive 10 hours to go to a Warhammer tournament. In retrospect, it was the start of something…

A bunch of local events some more recent than others. ND Opens where some of the biggest events in Quebec for a number of years. Chaos Ludik was it’s Montreal counterpart. The Capital City Bloodbath I remember being very proud of as it was my 1st Best General trophy at an event of more than 50 players.

This is one of the trophy that I will keep until it breaks completely (it is held together with mostly hopes and dreams, and a lot of hot glue.) ATC has a very special place in my heart as I was one of the 1st Canadian to attend a team event, back in 2016, and finishing 3rd with my friends the following year with some crazy lists is peak tournament experience.

These pins are from a time where I was still interested in competition painting rather than painting gaming pieces. I am glad I got as far into it as I did, but even more glad that I chose a different miniature painting path.

Canhammer Team Tournaments were the first to bring the ATC and WTC team tournament experience in Canada. The NoVA team trios was a blast of an event. We registered for it the morning of and we won in 2019. We went for the title defense in 2022 (NOVA skipped 2 years during the pandemic) and had just as much fun.

Adepticon was my favorite event. I went with my friends once in 2014, and then I was hooked. Every year I brought home awesome memories, and almost every year a different prize. The 2015 Player’s Choice is very cool because it was a player voted award, and the last year they had it, so I and technically forever the reigning player’s choice champ. Best Sportsmanship is a very cool trophy to win in a 250 player event.

In 2024, I embarked on some sort of crusade to play real competitive Warhammer 40k with my friends that are real competitive players. With team Blunt Force Trauma, I played in 3 events, finished 1st in each one, and was invited to the World Championship of Warhammer.

Trophies and plaques are one thing, but what makes these events truly memorable is spending time with friends, or making new ones. Crazy how posting models on an internet forum led to jumping on a plane to Tennessee to play Warhammer with guys I had played over beers once to attending the World Championship of Warhammer (with some of my best friends).
