Sylvaneth & Wood Elves Heroes Showcase

This projects was a fun mix of classic Wood Elves from the Warhammer Fantasy days, and some of their newer Age of Sigmar counterparts, the Sylvaneth.

This is a very common type of commission project I get, only painting heroes for an army. A lot of people paint their own troops, but want their heroes to have a little more kick. This is a good compromise to save some money on commission projects, as the piles of generic troops tend to crank up the bill. Or don’t save money and get extra banging heroes… who am I to tell you not to give me money, right?!

Alarielle the Everqueen is the centerpiece of any self respecting Sylvaneth army. This one is a bit more intricate, as you can remove Alarielle from its mount to have it on foot, and mount a giant tree on the beetle, or bare. I believe this is for the One Page Rule system.

The Arch-Revenant is everything that I love about the Sylvaneth version of Wood Elves. Elves mutating with trees and a very fantastic look.

In the same style is the Warsong Revenant. The more you look at this piece, the more you details you start noticing. Whoever designed it had a blast I can tell.

The less grandiose part of this project, the humble beetle swarms. Despite the diminutive size, they pack a lot of flavor with the way the swarm is posed and the added details on the bases.

Last but not least, four classic metal Wood Elves sorcerers. These were some of the best Wood Elves sculpts back in the Warhammer Fantasy days (barring the ever elusive Great Stag) so it was fun to revisit those models with a more modern paint job.
