Not all models in your army need to be painted to award-winning standards. Much like cowbell, sometimes you just need more Cadians! At least that’s what I hear from every single guard player ever.

This scheme is pretty straightforward:

• Paint every base coat the right color
• Shade everything heavily with either black, brown or sepia
• Add some bright purple on lenses, screens and plasmaguns
• Put on a dark-colored base.

“Quantity is a quality its own” as the saying goes.

The best part is that most characters, like this primaris psyker, share a similar scheme, only they have more purple because there is more going on with the miniature. So they stand out amongst the army without any extra effort

With the time you save with a simple battle ready scheme, you can add silly little easter eggs, like mimicking the Canadian flag on the banner, or giving your plasma gunners little oven mitts.

Of course, you can spend more time on individual characters. But do you need to? Absolutely not! The goal with this kind of paint scheme is to get your army on the battlefield in no time, and for it to look good as a whole.
