Death Guard Army Showcase

This Death Guard project was all about keeping things simple, gritty, and full of character. The army was painted in classic heresy-era colors, with plenty of battle damage and a bright pink accents to make everything pop.

This commission project is actually much larger and is pretty much the entire Death Guard collection. I will include a link to the other part (parts? It might be that large of an army) when I get them online.

This Death Guard army was mostly done with gaming in mind. Keeping the scheme striking yet simple means the overall cost is lower, and it’s quicker to add pieces as they are released or become the new hotness in the game.

This Daemon Prince is a good example of that. Was not played on codex release, but was then painted and delivered in a week prior to a tournament.

Terminators are the best Death Guard miniatures, this is not even a matter of opinion, it’s just facts. So there’s a bunch of both Blightlords and Deathshrouds in there.

This project has a ton of Plague Marines, and they’re the core of the whole army (or where at least, I don’t know they’re that popular anymore). Lots and lots of Plague Marines.

For cultists, the army uses Ash Waste Nomads from Necromunda. They fit the theme surprisingly well. Lots of cloth, masks, and creepy details that make them look right at home following Nurgle’s call.

Another staple of Death Guard armies are their little vehicles, the Foetid Bloat Drones and the Myphitic Blight Crawlers. They are probably my favorite part of the range, they have so much character and fit in the army’s clunky and grotesque look so well.

And to round out this part of the collection are two custom 3D printed Rhinos. Although I’m a big fan of the bare-bone aesthetics of the Death Guard, it’s hard to dislike a bell-tolling set of tentacles.
